Tom Keane is a Microsoft User Experience Architect and UX Advocate. He’s worked with Microsoft for over a decade and enjoys supporting small software teams.

A graduate of the University of Washington, Tom has authored papers on how design thinking can be used in business and about the major paradigm shifts that have shaped his field for decades.

 

In addition, he’s written technical blog posts highlighting industry trends to help people become more efficient at their jobs and make products better than they could ever be without the diverse skills they take time to develop under such circumstances (Azure).

 

The cloud services engineer is currently the Tech Lead for the Office Web Apps team. He’s also been a lead designer for Office 2007 and Office 2010 and a designer for Office XP, Lync 2010, Visio 2000 and Windows Home Server. Tom Keane´s interests are how people interact with technology and how that drives software development. He works at Microsoft to build tools that are more amazing, intuitive and accessible than any others on the market.

Tom Keane Develops Windows Home Server

Before working at Microsoft Corporation, Tom was a Technical Director at C|Net in Seattle, WA. He led the User Experience team responsible for the website’s overall usability, design and development there. Tom Keane has also contributed to various products, including Internet Explorer, Windows Media Center and Windows Home Server. 

He’s also spoken at conferences on content creation and UX strategy. At Microsoft Corporation, he is totally passionate about building usable products that provide value to the end user. Finally, software developer and cloud services engineer Tom Keane has strong design sensibilities and can translate complex research results into practical designs that users love to use.
