Noted futurist and serially successful entrepreneur Jason Hope said his approach to whatever task he takes on is to “keep it simple and never overcomplicate.” The successful activist investor said the latter inevitably leads to two results, both bad: “time wasted” and “failure.” Those are two qualities that Hope has avoided for most of his remarkable career.

It began with earning a university degree in finance and then an MBA. As it turns out, Hope’s interests would range far afield from business itself. He has made significant contributions to online technologies, such as IoT (the Internet of Things), and he has been a significant proponent of leading-edge anti-aging research. After achieving early and remarkable success as an investor and with start-up businesses, Jason Hope turned to philanthropy to find new ways to improve the long-term condition of humanity itself.

One way he did that was with a large financial contribution to the SENS Foundation. SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) is a non-profit research group based in California. Its research is focused on developing methods to promote, create and ensure greater access to anti-aging biotechnologies. That is why Jason Hope is their main activist investor.

Hope has also backed with his financial resources Teach for America Phoenix, Family Health International, T Gen Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix. As for how anyone can achieve success in business or life, Jason Hope said that what it gets down to is “establishing healthy and productive routines.”

Although often immersed in high tech himself, the activist investor and philanthropist urges all to “find a balance between the Digital World and the physical needs of the human body.” Even the most successful entrepreneurs fail now and then –- or often, Jason Hope added. The important aspect of failure is how we react to it. Since failure is inevitable, it might as well be leveraged as a learning experience, he said.
