According to Greycoat real estate specialists, there were 1.4 million homes built in England from 2013 to 2014. It is estimated that one in 13 of these homes are located in a flood zone. Jason Storah is the chief executive for the UK and Ireland general insurance.

He stated the fact that eight percent of the homes that have been built in the past decade are located in a flood zone is a cause for concern. Jason also stated that many of these homes are not covered by flood insurance. And this is where Greycoat agents come in.

Additionally, flooding is not the only thing that many people who live in England are concerned about. A House Price Index survey showed that 61 percent of people are concerned about the effects that high heat can have on their home. Therefore, agents like the ones at the Greycoat agency are concerned as well.

Greycoat adds more. Sixty-two percent of the people surveyed are concerned about storm impacts. Jason said that even though insurance may pay for the damage, it cannot pay for the emotional damage that people suffer as a result of flooding.

The expert believes that more needs to be done in order to prevent people from building homes in flood zones. If you are looking for a home, then it is important to consider the area that it is in. Greycoat Real Estate can help you find a home that is in a safe area.
