Greg Aziz is Plasteel Holding International Inc.’s President, Chairman & CEO. Before joining Plasteel Holding International Inc., the successful leader was Chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco, a steel producer with operations across Canada and the United States. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, earned his undergraduate degree in engineering at McMaster University, where he graduated as valedictorian, and obtained an honorary doctorate from McMaster University in 2008. In 2001 Greg Aziz became president, managing director, and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco in Hamilton, Ontario.
This when it merged with Dominion Iron & Steel Company Ltd. to create Canada’s largest steel producer. As president, managing director, and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco from 2001-05, he was responsible for the Company’s overall operations as it grew to Canada’s leading steel producer. Greg Aziz also served as a member of the ArcelorMittal North America executive committee.
Aziz became vice-chairman of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) in 2009, a position he held until January 28, 2010. This is when he resigned to take up his place at Plasteel Holding International Inc. Corporation. In his role at the GTAA, Greg Aziz presided over transformation projects that resulted in improved passenger facilities and enhanced experience of being welcomed to Toronto.
Mr. Aziz has served in various executive positions at Plasteel Holding International Inc. since joining the Company in 1993. His background includes a successful career in railcar manufacturing and distribution, with experience as a Controller for a leading international steel railroad car manufacturer and marketing manager for one of the largest, privately-owned railcar manufacturing companies in North America. Before joining Plasteel Holding International Inc., Greg Aziz served as Executive Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Union Tank Car Company (UTLX).
